My journey started in Pearl City, Hawaii where I was actually in school studying to be a Paralegal; I worked a little office job in a little store where they sold a multitude of flooring and countertops. I thought I wanted to be involved in the legal system but working in this shop opened my eyes to opportunities I would've never thought possible. It was here that I really discovered my eye for design, where I cultivated my ability to hear a person tell me they wanted to make their house a home. This is where I heard homeowners' dreams and found I had the ability to make that a reality.

I continued my work at that little store in that little town where I was able to build my knowledge on material, practicality, and design and I just knew I was in the right place doing the right thing.

As a child, I was never really in touch with my father or his side of the family so, one day, when I told my husband and family that I'd like to discover this other side of me, I received full support and we moved from Oahu to Plano, Texas.

 

We expanded our horizons and opened even more doors for ourselves and our kids. I proceeded with my career choice to see a person's vision through to the end and was able to help turn many more houses into homes.

 

I most recently worked at ProSource of Allen, a wholesale (closed to the public) company specializing in all manner of finishing material including, but not limited to: backsplash, floor/wall tile, countertops, doors, etc. Here, I was able to gain even more knowledge and guidance and created a great professional relationship with my boss and mentor. I am the first designer to have a member account with this company and I really appreciate all the love and support they gave me when I expressed my interest in branching out on my own and founding Aloha Design Innovations.

 

Since starting this solo journey in 2019, I have received numerous awards and certificates for my design work, expanded my employee base while keeping this a family business, and met many more people in the industry who are helping me further my knowledge and experience even more.

 

With almost two decades of experience in the industry, I'm so grateful I still get to wake up every day and do what I love with the people I love.
